Paul S. Haberman, Esq. was elected to his first term on the Council in 2017. He has lived in Norwood since 2011 with his wife, Kimberly, and two daughters. Paul has a B.A. in Political Science from American University and a J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. He is the principal/owner of the Northern Valley-based Law Offices of Paul S. Haberman LLC. An accomplished legal writer and veteran of three well regarded Northeastern law firms, Paul has extensive experience representing individuals, companies, and institutions in the medical, hospitality, retail, consumer, real estate, general business, entertainment, and sports industries in both federal and state courts, where he has secured nearly 40 victories in dispositive motion practice and a range of favorable outcomes on trial, on appeal, and through negotiation. He also has experience representing individuals and entities in the aforementioned fields on a range of other business needs. Paul’s professional accomplishments have led Paul to be named to Super Lawyers’ “Rising Stars” list for the past 5 years.
As a resident of Norwood, Paul served as a Board member and Chairperson of the Norwood Environmental Commission until his election, was a co-author of its clearcutting and expanded tree ordinances, coached Norwood t-ball, and served as a liaison to the Northern Valley Greenway/ Rails-to-Trails project. While he is a graduate of Jericho High School on Long Island, Paul has now been a resident of New Jersey for long enough to scoff at slow moving cars with New York license plates as being driven by “out-of-towners” and “those New Yorkers.” He is thus officially one of us now.
