POLICE DEPARTMENT

Chief of Police - Jeffrey Krapels

Liaison - Councilman Allen Rapaport

 

 

Members of the Police Department are appointed by a majority vote of the Borough Council at a regular meeting or at a special meeting called for that purpose.  Qualifications, testing and promotion procedures, powers and duties, rules and regulations of the Department are delineated in the Borough of Norwood Code, Chapter 50.

 

The non-emergency number for the Police Department is 201-768-0850.  For emergencies, call 911.

 

MUNICIPAL COURT

 

Municipal Court meets the first and third Wednesday of the month. The Municipal Court Judge is Robert Travers and the Court Administrator is Lindsay Taglieri.

 

All questions pertaining to Municipal Court should be directed to Ms. Taglieri at 201-767-7207.

 

Court Hours:

Mondays 8:00 AM -12:30 PM

Tuesdays 8:00 AM Noon

Wednesdays 3:00 PM - 7:30 PM (1st, 3rd, & 4th) (2nd Wed. 8:00 AM-12:30PM)

Thursdays 8:00 AM 12:30 PM

Fridays 8:00 AM 12:30 PM

 

FIRE DEPARTMENT

 

Norwood Fire Company No. 1 is the duly incorporated volunteer fire company of the Borough.  Headquarters is located at 602 Broadway.  The non-emergency number is 201-768-6023. For emergencies, call 911.

 

The 2015 Line Officers:

Assistant Chief : Michael Congiusti

 

 The Fire Department invites all local non-profit organizations to use their outdoor sign to announce upcoming events. Sign requirements are:

  • No political, religious or personal messages
  • Messages limited to 5 lines
  • First come, first serve basis
  • One month advance notice
  • The Fire Co. reserves the right to edit or refuse messages

EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES:

 

The EMS Chief is Martin Clancy. The EMS liaison is Councilwoman Marianne Orecchio.

 

Headquarters are located at 496 Broadway. For medical emergencies dial 911 for non-emergencies 201-768-0850.
