AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF NORWOOD, CHAPTER 215 THEREOF, ENTITLED “TOWING”
BE IT
ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Norwood, County of
Bergen, State of New Jersey as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 8, Equipment, of Chapter 215, Towing, of the Code of the Borough of Norwood is hereby amended to change the lifting capacity of a wrecker or tow truck from ten (10) tons to four (4) tons.
SECTION 2: Section 12, Towing and Storage Rates, of Chapter 215, Towing, of the Code of the Borough of Norwood is hereby amended to add fees that may be charged by Authorized Contractors as follows:
1. Towing, flatbed or regular tow to garage;
passenger cars, small vans and pick-ups $70.00
2. Towing flatbed or regular tow to garage;
motorcycles, moped and trail bikes $70.00
3. Service call during regular business hours, 8AM to 4PM $25.00
4. Service calls after hours, Sundays and Holidays $40.00
5. Service call – flat tires, remove tire and replace with
serviceable spare – add to above rates $15.00
6. Vehicle storage, inside or outside per day $25.00
A – No storage charge for the first day of towing
B – No charge for storage of mopeds and trail bikes
for the first two days
7. Additional charges may be added at the rate of $70.00 per
hour due to unreasonable delays or unusual difficulties
encountered at the scene.
8. Vehicles will be released during normal business hours only.
SECTION 3. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication according to law.
